Elyon

Elyon, you drowned me
my heart surrendered
my lungs losing air
giving all I am.
Elyon, you drowned me
I died
my skin constricted
my eyes rolled back
my lungs burned as water filled them
weighing me down like lead, pulling me to the bottom.
Elyon, you drowned me
I died to this world
to my sins
to pain, to brokeneess
my guilt, my heartache, you stole
in you I live.
Elyon, you drowned me
and then raised me back to life
in your presence
a place I never want to leave.
You are most high.
